    HELP!!!

Last summer, my first adventure in canning, canned some green beans using the water bath method.I did not have a pressure canner. Follow the directions,clean/new jars, salt, warm water, boiling for 25mintues.All the jar gave a ping sound, pressed down on the lid appeared seal.Place in storage for the winter. When I opened the jars they had a milky solution in the boden, they were spoiled. Some we opened were good having the fresh green smell and apperance. Cooked them they were great.
The spoiled jars I could open with my fingers/not having to use an opener.
My question, if the jar pings and you do not get ping back sound what would have caused the spoilage? I asumed they all were sealed.

Should I have used distilled water?

We have a water filtering system in our home that uses salt, iron out and bleach, would this be the problem?

Your directions and suggestions will be deeply appreciated!

    Thanks

This post was for the canning method only. I don’t know anything about water bath.

Sorry. Best of luck. You’d might have luck commenting on a post with that topic.
