Memorial Day Weekend
Great Memorial Day Weekend. Very restful, slept on the porch with the fam in light rain, listening to the birds and feeling the breeze.
Saturday, Upward games, then closing that PM, a birthday party, a fam reunion we had to miss this year.
Sunday: praise band, family reunion, rest.
Today: flea market, meal, haircut for Boy Wonder, cleaning the kitchen.
Tonight, Jon and Kate…oh, what sadness. Just a compelling afterthought to make sure that when it’s all said and done, it wasn’t all about the kids. Marriages hold people together, not kids. I’d love to think that our love would bind us to them, not them to us. Our situations so different, stresses so different, yet we have our own high risks. Many of us. Makes me want to treat my man well, honor him highly, esteem him greatly, enjoy him immensely, and teach my kids to do the same with their spouses. Gosh, I want to think that when we are away from each other, we miss one another, not just the “help” or the family pictures. So sad.
