The Friday before Easter
I went to the Friday Community Easter services today. The words and message and music and light streaming in glass windows (between the tornadoes and storm warnings) was so comforting.
Today, I didn’t get a whole lot of my “list” accomplished! I hope to do better this evening on some chores. After the storm scares, I did buy some coffee tables I hope we will enjoy this afternoon–I can check one big thing off. It is so hard for me to commit to furniture because I never want to get rid of it once I get it. But, our “country oak” we inherited with the house doesn’t really suit the changes we are moving toward.
They are supposed to be delivered tomorrow, and for that, I’m grateful. I was having trouble envisioning getting them into the van and house, but didn’t want to wait a long, long time.
We had another tornado WARNING today–many hits all around, and much devastation not far south of us. Wee are said by fore casters to now be part of the expanded tornado alley. I can believe it! We are so SO TIRED of all the emergency calls lately. The kids had to be in the halls of the school with coats over their heads so long that they had to bring out wet towels to cool them off…so many kids packed in such a small space in two of the halls. I’ve seen a lot of Tennessee-Murfresboro area damage on the TV just now and hope everyone is okay in that direction. Prayers go out.
PS: Just got word that some in Dori’s family (a friend I’ve come to know and love through blogging) were affected, their neighborhood devastated. Be in special prayer for them.
