Florida Passes “Droopy Pants” Law
Related, last night on Oprah’s big give, Miss Former America Placeholder (whatever that means) wore a high-rise, spagehetti strap shirt during the “reveal” of their gift. She was “revealing” herself, in an elementary school, as fake SNOW fell out of the ceiling.
None of the judges mentioned it. Only praise for that team.
A lady on the other team greeted the former President of the United States in a spaghetti strap shirt, bouncing around like she had no idea how to be a public person.
The judges have centered on team drama– inability to get along, but I think professional presentation ranks up there when you work with the public. It should. It does in our Anywhereville, USA. Example matters when you are teaching people to live healthy, happy lives. It sure does!
Not long ago, on another show, the HomeMaker Edition, the ever-energetic host was running down– they had to blur the screen when his pants literally fell down as he was running. The crowd-full of live people cheering were not so lucky. He knows he’s going to be in front of people, a crowd, and on TV, and yet he can’t wear pants that won’t fall off, or a belt to hold them up. This seems a priority for me. But, what do I know? Both of these are family shows…I won’t even get into the ads for the shows. We literally HAVE to turn the channel every time an ad for “Dancing with the Stars” comes on. I’m sorry if you like it. Not family fare. Family shows needs family-oriented ads backing them.
These people can do what they do, yet they cannot clothe themselves with any degree of common sense.
Reuters news feed for pants story: here. They are tying to educate boys that the idea origated in prisons when an in-mate was trying to hook up with another man for favors. I like the idea of starting somewhere when it comes to respecting others, but stopping with that issue as our focus seems too narrow a view.
Oh America
Morning-after pill to be sold without prescription (CNN Top Story Today if this Link doesn’t work)
Well, that’s enough to give me a morning’s sadness and indigestion.
Tip: If you are already feeling low, don’t seek the news, or TV for “entertainment”. Geez.
